Ring side seats
People were lining the streets of upmarket Clifton to get a better look at the stricken tuna fishing vessel, the Eihatsu Maru, that ran aground on Clifton First Beach on Saturday. Some looked settled in for the day! Apparently there are 90 tons of fuel in the ship which is being slowly pumped out into special plastic containers on the beach as attempts to pull the boat off the beach were unsuccessful. Once the ship is a bit lighter, a renewed attempt to tow her away will be made on Saturday when a swell is predicted. Click for more photos.

Saw the pictures the other day and could not believe my eyes. So irresponsible. When they first said they are going to leave the fuel and fish on board I knew they would never pull it off with it there.
