No shoes
Yesterday in Longmarket Street in Cape Town, I came across these two little girls on their way home from school. I was wondering if the little one on the right chose to go barefoot or had no option. I know what I would have chosen given the option - and I consider myself a child of Africa. Click here for more ABC Wednesday posts.

My kids will go without shoes if they had the choice.
ReplyDeleteHope it was her choice...I can't go without shoes, I fear getting hurt!

I really like this pic Caro.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo, Caroline. Her uniform and school bag look in good condition, so I believe it's her choice. Blessings and hugs Jo (Now South Africa!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments. They were such cute little girls, deep in conversation. And it was a lovely warm day.
ReplyDeleteSince she is in school uniform and has a backpack too, I think its her choice. Most schools require a uniform which would include shoes.
ReplyDeleteProvocative question.
To have the choice would be wonderful. To have no shoes, sad.
ReplyDeleteThought-provoking photo.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jo. Her uniform and school bag do suggest it's her choice.
Walking barefoot is wonderful. Free and liberating.
