A time of worship

Easter starts early in this Khayelitsha church as food has to be prepared days in advance by the ladies in preparation for the huge congregations that are expected from today until Sunday.

Devils's Peak and Table Mountain rise above the heat haze over Cape Town - viewed from Khayelitsha. It is almost too hot today to exercise one's fingers on the keyboard!

Urban sprawl

From the sand dunes on the shores of False Bay, looking back to Table Mountain - just visible in the distance - and stretching as far as the eye can see, is Cape Town's largest 'township', Khayelitsha (Xhosa for 'new home').
