Violation of human rights

Yesterday's Cape Times had a photo of ten crosses alongside the railway line in Blackheath that bear witness to an atrocious act of idiocy and gross violation of human rights by taxi driver Jacob Humphreys. Ten small children were killed when this man, presumably a licensed driver, decided to jump a queue of waiting cars and ignore the safety booms to beat a train over the Blackheath railway crossing. Ten beautiful, happy, beloved children just snuffed out in a moment.
This kind of dangerous driving is very prevalent in South Africa at the moment - particularly with the lawless and maniacal taxi drivers - and the authorities do nothing about it at all. With our proudly won Constitution that puts basic human rights first, I would have thought that it would be one of the first problems for the traffic authorities to tackle. Shame on them!
