A joyful memory of our fantastic World Cup - a fountain in the middle of one of the traffic circles on the Heerengracht. And now everyone is talking about demolishing our lovely stadium.
Some days I think Cape town was too keen to just have a new stadium and didn't think it through properly. I can see WP Rugby's point about not wanting to leave their paid off stadium to go and pay a huge rent at the new stadium. CT will have to make a plan to make it viable. Here in PE we are trying hard to get events into our stadium and getting our rugby team into the Currie Cup and Super rugby will go a long way in helping achieving that.
This blog began as a City Daily Photo, but with the demise of that portal, it is floundering somewhat in the swampy waters of the Okavango Delta for now ...
People are talking about demolishing the beautiful new stadium?? Why?
ReplyDeleteToo expensive to run they say. But U2 are coming soon so we have a bit of a reprieve.
