Dark days

Dark days for Western Province rugby. Cape Town's rugby-mad population are feeling a bit bleak after our drubbing by the Natal Sharks. Haai Noon indeed! This is Wynberg Boys High School's "Cabbage Patch" playing field with the boys' newly planted vineyard beyond the posts and a misty Table Mountain in the background.

Rugby Saturday

Buying rugby memorabilia near Newlands Railway Station this morning. Lots of fans were arriving in their blue stripey shirts and the air was full of the smell of braais (barbecues for the non-South Africans). This afternoon Vodacom Western Province plays the Vodacom Blue Bulls in the Absa Currie Cup rugby fixture at Newlands.
