Literacy at a price
Yesterday was International Literacy Day and all week the Gardens Shopping Centre will have a charity book sale. I went along but found the books rather pricey so didn't buy any. I think donated, second hand books should be cheaper than shop-bought books.

I agree with you. Our library used to accept good used books and then once a year sell them for a nice profit -- since they were donated there was no expense involved. The they got particular and would not take them at all but tried to sell old library copies, dog-eared with torn or missing pages. Now, they don't have them. So I try to give my books to someone who loves to read but can't afford or don't want to lay out $20 or $30 or more for a new book. That reminds me. I need to make the free offer again on my blog.
