Scott House on the corner of Long and Church Streets used to be the old Johannesburg Hotel - one of the many Lion Hotels of the mid twentieth century. It was probably built in the 1880s, and now houses the oh-so-cool and trendy
Mungo and Jemima fashion store.
Mungo and who? Perhaps I'm just not trendy enough. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't dare go in there!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed a lot of red painted buildings in your posts. Is it popular/traditional?

Are there new trendy hotels somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteJane and Chris - red is not traditional at all - just eye-catching for me I suppose. And Mo - yes - plenty of trendy hotels in Cape Town.
ReplyDeleteI like painted red brick buildings. It either makes the structure look really old, or really modern and cool. Good choice of look for this designer boutique!
