Timely

We caught the brand spanking new Gautrain from Sandton to O.R. Tambo airport in Johannesburg and were most impressed with the ease, speed and sheer "class" with which we found ourselves at our destination, on time. It seems that impetus to build the Gautrain system was the news that we were to host the World Cup in 2010 - which was very timely.

  4. Wow, never seen the Gautrain in real life! It looks SOOO exotic and I believe you that it's classy and efficient. Good on South Africa for having this project up and running in time for the World Cup Soccer. Thanks for your comment on my post. I saw Ed last week and didn't know he's writing a book. I will ask him when I see him again in about ten days' time! Have a great day Caroline. Blessings and (((Hugs))) Jo (PS were you going up to the Berg in December? )

  5. I've wanted to go on the Gautrain since they started working onb it, but haven't had the chance as I don't get to Jhb that often and then normally have a car and need to rush somewhere. I hope it gets maintained and stays viable so that one day they may decided to expand the idea elsewhere in the country as well. Perhaps even between cities.

I noticed Jo's comment. You going to the Drakensberg in December? We will be camping at Mahai in the Royal Natal Nat Park over New Year for 10 days.
