Kung-Fu Shakespeare
This year's Shakespeare at the open air theatre at Maynardville is A Comedy of Errors. Always clever and creative, these productions are great fun. The stage is surrounded by trees, all lit up and mysterious, and the atmosphere is magical. This year the set looked like it was built out of giant children's blocks, and the whole play was done with a Kung-Fu theme. With bubbles.

Kung Fu and bubbles? Shakespeare would have laughed his socks off!

Our Shakespear play also takes place this week and next and unfortunately due to vandalism at their open air venue in St Georges Park they have been forced to move the play to the Opera House. It isn't going to be the same.
ReplyDeleteThat is shocking.I am sorry - there is something very sprcial about open air Shakespeare performances. I just love the ones at Maynardville.
