Early this morning the sun was already blazing - another scorcher of a day. On my way back from a walk in Silvermine I came across this tortoise legging it across the hot tarred road - no doubt to find a shady spot on the other side.

Not just the days are hot but the nights as well. And I struggle to sleep when its hot.

ReplyDeleteThis could be the start of a new series of jokes starting "why did the tortoise cross the road?"
ReplyDeleteIt didn't need any help - it had reached the other side already. And its best not to touch tortoises as they expell liquid in an attempt to put off predators, and if there is not enough water around, they can desiccate and die.
