Stormy weather today and an apt backdrop to the once bustling suburb of District 6 at the foot of Table Mountain, which is now a monument to the atrocities of the Nationalist government. Most of District 6 has been lying deserted since the brutally sad days of the seventies and eighties when an entire community was forcibly removed to clear the area for "whites only". But apparently there is going to be a lot of development here in the coming year as land claims are sorted out and things get going.

  1. That was a desolate time in our country, Caroline. Jo

  2. Any plans for green areas or a community park? Nature must have staked a claim there.

  3. It's good to be reminded so that it doesn't ever happen again.

  4. We've also have had a lot of claims around PE sorted out and building started over the last year. I've never visited District 6 though.

We're heading out on holiday on Saturday so I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have done forward posts for both my blogs so they will still come up on your feeds every day, I just won't be commenting as I'm not taking the laptop along. Perhaps I'll bump into you while I'm in the Cape
