You know you are nearly there when you start seeing Quiver Trees - these amazing Aloe dichotomatrees that grow in the semi-desert areas of the Northern Cape. Legend has it that the Bushmen used the hollow branches as quivers for their arrows.
This blog began as a City Daily Photo, but with the demise of that portal, it is floundering somewhat in the swampy waters of the Okavango Delta for now ...

ReplyDeleteVery Australian looking landscape here. That tree is reminiscent of our Boab Tree which stores moisture in its enlarged trunk.
