Gardens are
good for the soul. This is
Kirstenbosch, Cape Town's
gorgeous
green
garden on the slopes of Table Mountain. All plants in the
garden are indigenous to South Africa. The
garden is always filled with children having fun - laughing, tumbling on the
grass and most importantly, learning to love nature and the
great outdoors.
This is one of the rather
grotesque statues by sculptor
Dylan Lewis that are on temporary exhibition at the moment.
I love the little kids playing around the sculpture. Little angels and a big angel.
ReplyDeleteOh, and no. The Polisiekar band wasn't there. :-) DJ Ossewa, Die Broers, Pieter Koen, Jay (of Eden), David Fourie, Sarah Theron, Manie Jackson and a couple others.
ReplyDeleteProbably my favourite city. I lived in Somerset West for some years and a visit to Capetown was always exciting.

I love the Kirstenbosch Gardens! This statue seems to have won over the little children!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautifully lush gardens, and the sculpture is a wonderful piece of imagination. Love the children all around, nice capture

The gardens aren't much to look at here yet. Still waiting for winter to let go of us! Your green sanctuary looks very inviting.
ReplyDeleteCreative and green! A wonderful combination...
