The harvesting of the pines of Cecilia Plantation above Constantia has generated a lot of unhappiness over the past few years when Table Mountain National Park announced its intention to harvest the pines and then restore the fynbos. I am completely behind them, but think they set about it in a most unfortunate way. A little compromise here and there would have done wonders for all the Capetonians who love to walk in the pines. But chaps, wait a few years, and you will see that it was all worth it! Click here for TMNP info.
