Up the West Coast

Yesterday was the last official day of the school holidays (not counting weekends). I accompanied my sister, a few of her children, a young visitor from Holland and two extra little nephews to the West Coast National Park, about an hour and a half out of Cape Town. This is the old homestead of Geelbek, absolutely riddled with history, where we had a late afternoon "lunch". You can see children playing on the wall of the old Cape Dutch farmstead.
(Birders - this is a wonderful place to see waders, but don't bring unruly nephews with you!)

  1. My school holiday was spent in Gauteng. My son went to take part in the SA Trampoline champs in Pretoria and we sommer made a holiday out of it, spending time with friends in both Jhb and Pta.
