On my way into town yesterday I followed this old Citroën Light 15 for some of the way. It would have made my dad's heart sing! He had a black one in his youth and was a fanatical Citroën man to the end. Its number plate said 1947 so I presume that was when it was built. Apparently only a few of them were built that year so this one must be
quite rare. Light 15s were built from 1934-1955 and were the first mass-produced front-wheel drive cars in the world. They also had independent suspension, and were very comfy and roomy and affordable.
Castle Buttress, which towers over Kirstenbosch Gardens, can be seen above.
Oh so cool. I'd have loved to have been in the car
ReplyDeleteI know one or two people who would teeth for a car like this.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely a gem of an old car! I have followed a few antique cars and then photographed and interviewed the drivers when they FINALLY pulled over or parked!
